Passion and commitment to leather
Selecting the highest quality leather with consideration for the environment

Certified Leather
All leather used by BONAVENTURA is sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group or OEKO-TEX® . Both certifications require that no harmful chemicals or prohibited substances are used, and that the leather degreasing and tanning processes are rigorously evaluated to protect the environment. We only purchase our main leathers, as well as smooth leathers and nylons, from trusted suppliers.

Consideration for the global environment
All leather used by BONAVENTURA is made from 100% livestock by-products. When incinerated, animal skins, which are produced as livestock by-products, generate large amounts of greenhouse gases and require energy, but they can be tanned at a tannery to be reborn as leather products, and can be returned to nature 100% after disposal. BONAVENTURA does not use any synthetic leather (PU) made from petroleum, which has a high environmental impact, and instead uses sustainable natural leather tanned at tanneries with cutting-edge equipment to make a variety of leather items, bags, and other leather products. In recent years, we have also been paying attention to alternative leathers derived from plants, such as vegan leather, and are constantly researching and developing materials that are more environmentally friendly.

Use of recycled materials
Switching to environmentally friendly materials

Shopping Bags <br>Currently, BONAVENTURA has begun a project to switch the material used in its shopping bags to FSC® certified material. FSC® certification is an international forest certification system that promotes responsible forest management that takes into consideration the animals and plants in the forest, as well as the people who work and live there, in order to maintain abundant forests in the future. Switching to this material will help contribute to forest conservation around the world.

Packaging
The red box, which is the symbol of BONAVENTURA, is currently made from 50% recycled paper. We are currently working on a project to change it to 100% renewable materials in the future. In addition, the shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled paper, and the use of plastic materials in packaging is minimized.

gift wrapping
In order to reduce CO2 emissions, we use foldable gift wrapping boxes for our bags to minimize the volume they take up during shipping. We also use cotton drawstring bags for gift wrapping small leather goods. After removing the gift, you can use these bags to store small items.

Aftercare
Initiatives and services that allow you to use your items for longer

At BONAVENTURA, we provide consultation and support for repairs, as well as care and storage methods for all our products. This is because by allowing you to enjoy using our products for a longer period of time, we can reduce the impact they have on the environment. In addition to accepting repairs, we also offer a wide range of leather care (maintenance products) that can be used on our own products, and provide information on how customers can easily care for their products themselves.

BONAVENTURA only employs factories that manufacture products through fair trade, fair prices, and fair labor, and suppliers that have a strong awareness of sustainability. All factories use only raw materials certified by BONAVENTURA, and we pay close attention to even the smallest details, such as the smallest metal parts used in each product. Each supplier has a wide range of initiatives, including consideration for environmental pollution, such as testing for pollutants and reducing CO2 emissions in line with strict European environmental standards, issues of human rights and social status, and running the factories' own electricity with solar power.
